Wine Auction
For the last 10+ years, a world renowned art college holds a gala event that is centered around an auction some of the rarest vintage wines. I have had the honor to provide images of the best lots to be showcased for promotional usages, and also to be displayed during the auction. Because of the high value, sometimes more than $10,000 per bottle, it would be a huge liability to ship the items to a conventional studio. I am able to construct a fully functional photography mini studio in the basement office space where the lots are stored. While there are three to four employees working in a space that is 15’ x 20’, with cubicle dividers, I am able to sei up in a way that does not impede their work flow, and shoot with continuous lighting as strobe would be irritating. My lighting insures a clean definition of the bottles, a seamless white background, and a soft reflection. If there are multiple bottles per lot, they are shot in rows that are then easily com lined in post. For last years project, there were over 60 lots that were shot in one day. and the finished images were delivered in under 48 hrs.
